My name is Captain Lori Deaton. I am the owner and operator of Ladyfish Charters, an inshore
fishing guide service. September through April, you’ll find me guiding my clients inshore in
Tampa Bay and its tributaries for snook, trout, redfish, tarpon and cobia. During the months of
May and June, you can find me fishing competitively in Boca Grande for tarpon.
Several years ago, I realized that of the very meaningful charitable fishing tournaments I was
involved in as a guide on the West Coast, none of them were benefitting breast cancer.
As soon as that thought crossed my mind, God filled my heart with the selfless desire to make
this happen. I didn’t hesitate, or even wonder how this would come together, I just knew that it
had to!
After my decision to make Hooked on Hope an annual fundraiser, I beckoned for a committee.
I was overwhelmed with the out pour of support I received from the men and women that have
helped me put this incredible event together. Their dedication to this event and to this cause is
astonishing.
We are proud to announce that the funds raised from this years event will go to the USF Breast
Health Program at the Carol & Frank Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare. Dr. Charles
E. Cox and his team focus on expeditiously diagnosing breast cancer and promptly developing
treatment options.
Being able to continue to make an impact on the lives of those who
suffer from breast cancer, through the Hooked on Hope Inshore
Fishing Tournament, is not only an honor but a true blessing.
Thank you for joining us in getting Hooked on Hope!
